Photo Rejuvenation

Refresh and rejuvenate your skin with 15-minute light treatments.

Pigmentation, redness, sun spots, uneven skin tone and congestion can be eliminated with light therapy treatments, leaving your skin brighter and tighter in just 15 minutes. With limited downtime and immediate results, light therapies have become the new lunchtime facial.

About the condition

Changes in pigmentation and skin tone can occur for a number of reasons, particularly sun damage. You may notice your skin appears mottled, or you have clusters of redness or sun spots. All of these skin complaints can be treated with light therapies, refreshing your skin and leaving you looking younger and more vibrant with little to no down time.

How it works

Essentially, light therapies work by breaking down pigment and discolouration, and kicking your skin cells into repair mode. They work as a deep cleanse for the skin, plus supercharge the normal healing process to leave you looking brighter and younger.

There are 3 different types of light therapies we use to rejuvenate your skin:

  1. Laser: A LASER is a machine that produces light of a single wavelength to very specifically target different structures in the skin. Lasers are often used to repair pigmentation and redness.
  2. IPL: An IPL(Intense Pulse Light) is a device that produces a band of light of multiple wavelengths to treat several conditions with minimal downtime. IPL are often used to repair mottled pigmentation, open pores and uneven skin tone. The most effective, modern type of IPL device we use is called BBL (Broadband Light)
  3. LED: An LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a device with 3 different colours that can target skin cells at a cellular level in a process called photobiomodulation. The yellow light promotes skin healing, the blue light helps treat acne, and the red light helps with skin rejuvenation. LED treatments are painless and target skin cells in the process of Biomodulation.

Benefits

Our cosmetic medical-grade light therapies are extremely safe and effective and require little to no downtime. While there are innumerable benefits from our light therapies, here are just a few:

  • Even skin tone creating a brighter, smoother complexion
  • Decreased redness helping you appear younger and fresher
  • Clearer skin without bumps and blemishes

Results from University studies in the USA have found regular BBL treatments can stimulate the skin to rejuvenate healing at a cellular level in a treatment protocol called Forever Young. Many of these patients have reported appearing 10 years younger than their actual age!

FAQs

Preparation

With rejuvenation procedures some skin preparation with cosmeceuticals (AHA/BHA blend and/or Vitamin A) as well as daily sunscreen can maximise results. Ensure the area is not sun tanned before your treatment, and avoid excessive sun exposure within the 48 hours leading up to your treatment.

Aftercare

Redness immediately after laser treatment is normal due to the heat effect. This is minimised by the immediate use of a cold pack after treatment. There can be some swelling in the first 48 hours and we do recommend sleeping with an extra pillow for the first 2 nights after laser treatments. LED rarely causes any after effects, and has no downtime at all for most patients.

Avoid excess sun exposure after any photorejuvenation treatment. A customised skincare program, combined with the regular daily use of sunscreen, greatly helps to maintain the results of clinic treatments.
