BBL uses advanced light-based technology with interchangeable filters and integrated cooling to deliver carefully selected wavelengths of light into the skin. These settings can be adjusted to suit different concerns while helping to maintain comfort during treatment.
The broad range of wavelengths allows BBL to be tailored for concerns including pigmentation, sun damage, redness, visible vessels, uneven skin tone and signs of ageing.
Research conducted by Stanford University investigators found that BBL treatment was associated with changes in the gene-expression profile of aged and sun-damaged skin, making it more similar to the profile seen in younger skin. Other published research has also reported improvements in pigmentation, vascular concerns and overall skin texture.
BBL can be used on many areas of the body, particularly those most affected by sun exposure. The most commonly treated areas include the face, neck, chest and backs of the hands.

Before your BBL treatment, we recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure, fake tan and active tanning for at least two weeks, as the skin should not be recently tanned or sunburnt at the time of treatment.
Please arrive with clean skin and avoid applying makeup, moisturiser, sunscreen or active skincare products immediately before your appointment where possible. If you are using prescription skincare, retinoids, exfoliating acids or other active ingredients, your clinician will advise whether these should be paused prior to treatment.
It is important to let your clinician know if you are taking any medications, have recently had cosmetic injectables, are prone to cold sores, or have had any recent skin irritation, procedures or changes to your medical history.

BBL treatment usually involves minimal downtime. Patients may experience temporary redness, which typically settles within a few hours to a day.
Pigmented areas may temporarily darken before gradually fading or flaking over the following several days. As the skin settles, you may begin to notice improvements in tone, clarity and overall skin quality.
Mineral-based makeup can usually be applied after treatment if required, provided the skin is comfortable and your clinician has advised that it is appropriate.
