Dermal Fillers

Augment and enhance your best features

As we age our body produces less collagen, which is the key component in the supporting framework of the skin. Hence, with less support certain areas of our complexion start to become drawn or sunken. To combat this natural aging process, we offer dermal filler treatments to help restore the youthful contours of your face. These fillers add volume and minimise wrinkles and folds, leaving you looking fresher, brighter and younger.

Dermal Fillers: Our Approach

Our Approach

Patient safety comes first and it is important that patients are informed that dermal fillers are not a simple beauty salon treatment and although rare, serious side effects can occur especially with poor technique. We have a proven safety record of using dermal fillers safely for over 20 years in a professional medical clinic environment.

We believe medical doctors should be on site for dermal filler treatments in the event of any problems. We do not believe it is best practice to have a profit driven model of paying a doctor on Skype, from somewhere else in Australia, to rubber stamp a medical treatment like dermal fillers.

We have an ethical and conservative approach to dermal fillers and unlike beauty salons and budget chain clinics our approach is not about using as much product as possible to meet targets and budgets. Our aim is to use as little product as necessary to achieve long lasting natural looking results that make you look great for your age.

About the condition

As we age, the turnover of collagen cells in our skin slows, making our complexion appear dull and tired especially around the eyes and mouth. Dermal fillers work by augmenting the volume of folds and sunken areas of the face, increasing both the volume and the hydration of the area.

Dermal fillers are commonly used to combat:

  • Droop or frown lines in the corners of the mouth
  • The deepening of the Nasolabial Fold between the nose and corners of the mouth
  • Marionette Lines between the corners of the mouth and side of the chin
  • Crow’s Feet on the outside of the eyes
  • Tear Trough hollowing underneath the eyes

Dermal fillers can also be used to add volume to areas even if ageing hasn’t had any effect yet. Lip enhancements and cheek enhancements are popular in younger people looking to augment their features. Cheek enhancements have also become popular in women of all ages to restore the ‘apple cheeked’ look of their youth.

Dermal Fillers: About The Condition

How it works

Dermal fillers instantly transform your face by adding immediate volume; restoring youthful contours and decreasing wrinkles. Our cosmetic medical professionals use the safest and most common dermal fillers approved for use in Australia, made from sugars naturally occurring in the skin.

Benefits

The benefits of Dermal fillers is their ability to produce immediate and visible effects as a non surgical treatment. The immediate change to the contours of the face creates an instantly fresher, more youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers are often paired with anti-wrinkle injection treatments for the most effective results.

FAQs

Preparation

You should not have dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and you should defer treatment if you have any active infections. For 2 weeks before treatment you should avoid dental work or vaccinations. Advise us if you are taking any medications, have allergies or get cold sores.

As with any injectable treatment, we recommend avoiding excessive alcohol consumption and high intensity exercise 24 hours prior to your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

Aftercare

Cold/ice packs are applied straight after treatment. We recommend drinking plenty of water in the 24 hours after dermal fillers to help with the result. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas and prolonged sun exposure the rest of the day of treatment. Sleep with an extra pillow on the night after treatment to prevent excess swelling.

Some swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness are common after dermal filler treatments, but often subside within the first 24 hours. If having Dermal Fillers for the first time we recommend not having it as a lunchtime procedure but either after work or before days off. This is mainly so you are familiar and comfortable with the level of possible reaction. It is important to know that some patients, depending on the type of dermal filler and their skin type, can have some swelling and tenderness side effects that may last a few weeks.
