The combination of a Peel to target the surface of the skin and a Laser to target below the surface of the skin achieves better and faster results than either treatment alone.
Combination treatments have become increasingly popular both because of time saving but also because of enhanced results. It seems the combination of a Peel and a Laser treatment is more effective than either procedure alone, there seems to be a synergistic effect if the right combination is used.
The combination of a Peel and Laser treatment together has the benefits of:
At Collins Cosmetic our most popular Laser Peel combines a Power Peel (Microdermabrasion and Peel) with REVLITE laser treatment. The GENESIS Peel is becoming more popular for patients where skin rejuvenation of fine lines and wrinkles is the main priority.
In some patients preparing the skin with cosmeceuticals and use of sunscreen can improve results. Excess sun exposure needs to be avoided before treatment. Any make up or sunscreen will need to be removed on the day of treatment.
Normal activities can be recommenced immediately. It can be done as a lunchtime treatment. Make up and/or sunscreen can be reapplied immediately after treatment.
Some slight redness and skin sensitivity is usual straight after treatment and you will be more vulnerable to sun exposure. In your skincare program you should restrict Vitamin A products (Retinols and Retinoids) for 4 days. You need to wait at least a week before any other skin treatments, such as Anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers or other surface laser treatments, such as laser hair removal.
