Every face is unique, and we all want it to look and feel as best as possible. At Collins Cosmetic Clinic, we can help you achieve results that will make your skin look younger and feel fresher.

Understanding how we age, and how our faces work, can give us greater insight into managing our skin. In this video, we briefly look at dermal fillers, explaining what they are and what effect they have in improving the quality of the skin.

Dermal fillers are gels made from naturally occurring complex sugars. Found in the layers of the skin, these sugars provide structure, support and skin elasticity. Dermal fillers are used primarily for filling static wrinkles, deeper folds and the lips.

In addition, volumising fillers are used for enhancing and restoring facial structure, volume and youthful contours to the larger areas of the face like cheeks and the jawline.

At Collins Cosmetic Clinic, we have a wealth of experience in treating and advising clients on dermal filler procedures. We’ll work with you to soften wrinkles and restore volume to the face, successfully revitalising the appearance of your skin.

How dermal filler procedures work

Dermal fillers procedures involve injections that are applied to the area of the face or body to cosmetically alter it – the eyes, lips or forehead for instance. The number, location and depth of the injections depend largely on the type of dermal fillers used and the desired results.

Depending on your choice of treatment at Collins Cosmetic Clinic, fillers can be temporary, semi-permanent or permanent. These specify how long the effects of your treatment are expected to last for.

How long will dermal filler results last?

With HA fillers, you can expect to see the effects of treatment for up to 12 months.

Before and after filler treatments

You should begin to see the difference immediately following a dermal filler procedure at Collins Cosmetic Clinic. Minor discomfort, swelling or stiffness in the affected area is common. The degree of swelling will depend on what kind of filler you’ve had done, however most of these symptoms will lessen and dissipate within 10 days.

One of the best things about a dermal filler treatment is that you can expect to be back to your best in as little as a week, unlike more invasive cosmetic surgeries. At Collins Cosmetic Clinic we also provide a range of makeup options to facilitate recovery.
