The appearance of large pores is usually caused by overactive sebaceous glands.  Pores expand to accommodate the excess sebum production, and can become clogged with cellular debris that can then lead to blackheads and congested skin.

It is important to know that you can’t actually “shrink” your pores.  They’re nothing but small openings in the skin, they don’t have muscles, and they can’t open or close.  So although you can’t physically change the structure of your pores by making them smaller, there are things that you can do to minimize their appearance.

This can be achieved through a variety of methods.  Basic treatments such are microdermabrasion, skin peels and extractions will help in removing excess sebum and cellular debris so the pores stop expanding.

Laser treatments such as FRAXEL, Revlite Laser and Dermapen/Skin Needling will stimulate collagen that in turn will plump and rejuvenate the skin and reduce the appearance of pore size.
