As dermal clinicians we find we get fantastic results with ‘Laser Peel’ treatments. One of the biggest advantages is minimal downtime and minimal discomfort, yet still great results. The commonest indications for a laser peel are;

  • Pigmentation
  • Rejuvenation
  • Scarring
  • Acne

We incorporate 3 different dermal modalities during a laser peel treatment to target both the skin’s superficial layers as well as the skin’s deeper layers. Laser Peels can be used on all skin types including tanned skin.

Firstly we start off with microdermbrasion.

This gives the skin a rapid exfoliation to allow for deeper penetration of the laser and any products as well as exfoliating dead skin cells to promote the generation of new skin. The patient will feel a suction sand paper sensation to the skin.

Secondly, the Revlite (Q-Switch YAG) laser is used.

This type of laser is called non ablative as it doesn’t damage the surface layer of the skin whilst it can still treat the deeper layers of the skin. The ‘Revlite’ laser can improve acne scars, even skin tone,skin tone, collagen stimulation, treat active acne and improve skin texture in wrinkled and sun damaged skin. There is little to no down time with minimal discomfort (just a tingling sensation). It has an interesting sensation on the skin, and the best way to describe it would be like little sparklers flicking at the skin.

Thirdly, a skin peel is applied.

The peel targets the superficial layers of the skin and works with your skins natural physiology to regenerate and restore a more luminous skin. The peel especially targets hydration/oil levels, acne, sensitivity/redness, ageing, and rejuvenation. The type and strength of the peel is customized according to your skin type and concerns.

It may be recommended to prepare your skin before a laser peel with topical products and it may be advised to use products following laser peels to optimize results.
