Forget unwanted tattoos and start fresh.
Tattoos can seem like a great idea at the time, but a change of mind may leave you wishing for a clean canvas again, or even the opportunity to change or redesign your existing tattoo. Our simple laser tattoo removal treatments are a safe and effective way to regain your flawless skin.
As a clinic with over 20 years of experience in removing and remodeling tattoos the 2 main things we consider before removing a tattoo are firstly, how well can we remove the tattoo ink, and secondly what will the skin look like afterwards. We understand that the cost of getting a tattoo treated is a major consideration, as it is typically much greater than the cost of having the tattoo put on in the first place. However, we also know that the best results are achieved when the highest quality lasers are used by qualified and experienced practitioners.
Around 20% of Australians and up to 50% of University students in Australia have tattoos, but up to half are unhappy with the tattoo they have. This is called ‘Tattoo regret’ and thankfully, our laser tattoo removal treatments are a safe, effective way of restoring skin to its natural look.
It’s important to note that laser tattoo removal requires a skilled laser operator, and you should only choose reputable cosmetic medical laser clinic technicians to administer this treatment due to the risk of burning and infection. A medically qualified technician will minimise your chances of permanent scarring or infection.
Our medical-grade lasers administer laser beam pulses in extremely short pulses (nanoseconds and picoseconds), effectively breaking up the pigment of your tattoo into small fragments. Your body is then able to clear these fragments. Due to the high quality of our medical-grade lasers and their ability to administer short pulses, your risk of scarring is significantly lower than with cheap lower grade machines being operated by poorly trained and unqualified people.
To remove multi-coloured tattoos requires multiple wavelengths of laser light and our three different tattoo removal lasers provide a range of different wavelengths and hence allows us to target different colours of tattoo ink.
We use the PICOSURE Laser and REVLITE Laser from the USA, and the SINON RUBY Laser from Germany. These machines give us 6 different wavelengths with both nanosecond and picosecond duration pulses to choose from. What this means is we can give you the best chance of effective tattoo removal with the smallest risk of scarring.
If applying a topical anaesthetic cream (EMLA) do this on the day of treatment at least 1 hour before treatment covered with some glad wrap or dressing.
After treatment the tattoo will have a prescription cream applied, be covered with a dressing and have a cold pack for 10 minutes. The area will feel like sunburn and some swelling or blistering can occur. A dressing will need to stay over the tattoo for 48 hours. Normal activity can be resumed but avoid direct sun exposure or friction on the treated area until the skin has healed.
Before and after images are presented purely as a reference point of the results that can be achieved. Everyone is unique and outcomes will vary and realistic expectations need to be discussed on a case by case basis.
